Bel Amour - “Bel Amour”

Second blogpost, this song was released around early 00’s, MTV broadcasted it almost every night, if you remember, before the Reality shows were hot :)

Still a nice “dance” song

My first blog about songs that we kinda forgot, i hope you remember this one :) came out  in 2001, and it was one of the most downloaded mp3 in the napstar era.

Movie Top Ten ‘12: 01. The Intouchables

The Intouchables
Director: Olivier Nakache, Eric Toledano
Cast: Francois Cluzet, Omar Sy, Audrey Fleurot
IMDB: 8,6 (120,617 votes)
Rotten Tomatoes: 76%
Trailer

Synopsis:
After he becomes a quadriplegic from a paragliding accident, an aristocrat hires a young man from the projects to be his caretaker.

My Verdict:
This is a small movie in the USA, but this is one of the biggest movies in Holland, a lot of people went to see it in the Cinema.
But what about the movie, yes it’s much better than Dark Knight Rises and all.
It’s based on a true story, Philippe wrote a book about his friendship with Driss and his life, and couple of years later they made a movie.
The movie is really funny but the acting performance of Cluzet and Sy are a-ma-zing!
There is nothing much to say about this movie, but i saw it already like 4 times.
But also, he got nominated for the best Foreign movie at the Golden Globes.
Maybe he will be nominated for Academy Awards in 2013.

Last Words:
That was my Top Ten List of this year, it was not hard to make it this year because there weren’t enough good movies released, actually 2012 was a bad year for the movies.
In the next following days i will post more blogs, about the worst movies of 2012, and what we can looking forward to in 2013.
Thanks for all reading my Top Ten List, and see you next year!

Ciao!
Chris

Movie Top Ten ‘12: 02. The Dark Knight Rises

image

The Dark Knight Rises
Director: Christopher Nolan
Cast: Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway
IMDB: 8,7 (477,332 votes)
Rotten Tomatoes: 87%
Trailer

Synopsis:
Eight years on, a new terrorist leader, Bane, overwhelms Gotham’s finest, and the Dark Knight resurfaces to protect a city that has branded him an enemy.

My Verdict:
Finally, the waiting was over last summer, after 2008’s Dark Knight the sequel The Dark Knight Rises came out.
And yes, Christopher Nolan did it again, he never disappointed me with his movies.
First of all, The Dark Knight was a Joker movie, thanks to Ledger the movie was great but now we’ll get a new villain, Bane.

Tom Hardy is about to break through in Hollywood and he was casted as Bane.
Hardy put so much effort in the gym that he became kinda large, and im happy with it that Nolan didn’t did the same what they did in 1997’s Batman and Robin.
Bane is a Mercenary, it gave me sometimes the creeps, but he was really bad ass. Great one lines, but what i liked the most is, that you really can read Bane’s eyes what he thinks or what his emotions were, great job by Hardy.
Also his voice is incredibly awesome! My friends thought that the voice was spoken by Sean Connery.

Anne Hathaway as Selina Kayle aka Catwoman which will not be named in this movie. She’s is a thief, but not a superhero.
I like Hathaway, she is gorgeous but she did a great job!

But, i think many people would not agree with me, but i liked this movie more than The Dark Knight, because The Dark Knight didn’t really had a depth in a story. In Rises the story continues after Batman Begins. You know about Rha’s Al Ghul etc.

Almost every movie from Nolan ended in my top 10 list. And this movie deserver the second spot.

Extra Bits:
Hans Zimmer, one of my favorite composer’s, composed this movie again, he did a great job again and i really really hope, that he finally deserves an Academy Award in 2013.

Movie Top Ten ‘12: 03. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

image

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
Director: David Fincher
Cast: Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, Christopher Plummer
IMDB: 7,9 (168,551 votes)
Rotten Tomatoes: 86%
Trailer

Synopsis:
Journalist Mikael Blomkvist is aided in his search for a woman who has been missing for forty years by Lisbeth Salander, a young computer hacker.

My Verdict:
I never saw the original Swedish version Män som hatar kvinnor, it was a big hit in Holland were i live, there are 3 movies, but The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is the first one of the three.
David Fincher is one of my favorite Directors, after Se7en, Social Network etc. he came up with this one.
And yes, this is an incredible good thriller, the movie was really interesting, like Silence of the Lambs.
Daniel Craig, we know him as Bond plays a Journalist who has been kinda corrupted after a fail report.
He plays pretty good, but still i see him as a secret agent:)
Rooney Mara, as Lisbeth, i know that Noomi Rapace plays Lisbeth in the original version. Checked some youtube vid’s about Noomi Rapace’s acting performance and it was pretty good!
But Rooney did it great as well, she was really bad ass in this movie, especially of that one scene that she take some revenge.
The setting is great, in a snowy Sweden on an island.
What i also like is the mystery on that island.
I hope that Fincher will direct the second one as well, this movie wasn’t a big hit in the Cinema, but the critics were really positive.
But The Girl Who Played With Fire is announced half year ago. Well see how it goes.

Extra bits:
The opening scene reminded me a lot of a Bond opening sequence, the song is also awesome, its a cover from Led Zeppelin

Check it out!

Movie Top Ten ‘12: 04. The Avengers

image

The Avengers
Director: Josh Whedon
Cast: Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson
IMDB: 8,4 (415,251 votes)
Rotten Tomatoes: 92%
Trailer

Synopsis:
Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. brings together a team of super humans to form The Avengers to help save the Earth from Loki and his army.

My Verdict:
Finally, after so many years waiting, The Avengers came out last year.
And yes, this movie rocks, only the story was kinda straight forward. But the humor and action scenes were entertaining.
Nothing more to say, but this movie deserves a spot in my top 10 list. So as many other people will do.
Looking forward to Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 in 2013.

Movie Top Ten ‘12: 05. Looper

Looper
Director: Rain Johnson
Cast: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, Emily Blunt
IMDB: 7,8 (104,640 votes)
Rotten Tomatoes: 94%
Trailer

Synopsis:
In 2074, when the mob wants to get rid of someone, the target is sent 30 years into the past, where a hired gun awaits. Someone like Joe, who one day learns the mob wants to ‘close the loop’ by transporting back Joe’s future self.

My Verdict:
Finally, a good movie that isn’t a sequel, prequel or a movie from a book.
And also i love Sci-fi movies.
Cast is great, Joseph is doing great again. Bruce Willis is bad ass as usual.
Great story, with some twists. And it’s fun to see Jeff Daniels again:)
Definitely a movie that i am going to re-watch again.

Movie Top Ten ‘12: 06. Moneyball

Moneyball
Director: Bennett Miller
Cast: Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, Philip Seymour Hoffman
IMDB: 7,6 (134,399 votes)
Rotten Tomatoes: 95%
Trailer

Synopsis:
Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane’s successful attempt to put together a baseball club on a budget by employing computer-generated analysis to acquire new players.

My Verdict:
Another baseball movie, but this isn’t the same as an average baseball movie.
This is about how Brad Pitt put up a baseball club with a really small budget, and thanks to Jonah Hill with his geeky math’s they made together a professional club.
Thanks to the acting performance and the story this movie was really good.
It was interesting, and also the first time i saw Jonah Hill in a drama, and he did actually pretty good.

Movie Top Ten ‘12: 07. Skyfall

image

Skyfall
Director: Sam Mendes
Cast: Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes
IMDB: 8,0 (158,890 votes)
Rotten Tomatoes: 92%
Trailer

Synopsis:
Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her, bringing MI6 under attack.

My Verdict:
The 23rd Bond movie, and also the biggest Bond movie, it got almost 1 Billion dollars in the World Wide Box office.
But still, this isn’t the best movie ever, but its really close as the best one.
Daniel Craig is not Sean Connery but he is a good Bond, better than Brosnan.
Javier Bardem as a villain, but also a classic villain, he is kinda bad-ass and did really great as DaSilva.
We also said farewell to Judi Dench as M. Too bad she died, but the new M played by Ralph Fiennes in that old style M Office is awesome.
Ralph Fiennes became big thanks to Harry Potter as Voldemort, but still i loved him in Schindler’s List.
Q was also re-introduced in this Bond movie, but not as an old gadget-geek but a young “hacker/gadget” geek. Reminds me of Simon Pegg in M:I movies.
Next to all those good things is also the opening song, Adele got the honor to sing it. And it’s the first bond song in 20 years it was on first place in most billboard charts.
Sam Mendes, great choice as a Director, he made good movies including this one.
Also the locations are great, from Instabul to somewhere in China.
Because Bond had his 50th anniversary, this movie deserved a place in my top 10 on number (0)07.
But if you really want to know what my favorite bond movie all time is.
It’s Goldfinger!

Extra Bits:
Adele had the honor to do the Bond song.
So here you can listen to it
